Zhou Ye and Hu Xian Xu’s Fantasy Drama Begins Filming
The upcoming fantasy drama The Unsolved Mystery of a Warm Rainy Season (English working title) has officially commenced production and revealed its full cast, with Zhou Ye and Hu Xian Xu leading the series.
Adapted from the popular novel by Fan Da Wang, the 24-episode drama is produced by Wajijiwa Entertainment and brings together a creative team known for emotional and suspense-driven storytelling. Filming reportedly began on June 23 and is expected to continue for nearly 100 days ahead of a planned 2027 release.
The story follows Lin Shi Lan, a young woman who survived a devastating flood but was left carrying deep emotional scars. Each rainy season, she experiences strange hallucinations that blur the line between past and present, repeatedly pulling her back into memories of the disaster.
Four years after the tragedy, Shi Lan meets Tan Jin, a young man who is experiencing the same mysterious phenomenon. As the two become trapped in a recurring time loop, they work together to uncover the truth behind the rainy season’s anomalies while helping each other heal from the wounds of the past.
Blending fantasy, romance, and suspense, The Unsolved Mystery of a Warm Rainy Season explores themes of trauma, recovery, and the unexpected connections that can change a person’s life. With Zhou Ye and Hu Xian Xu at the center of the story, the drama is already drawing attention as one of the notable Chinese productions currently in development.
