Prosecutor Fang Wei and a small team (Xu Yishan, Chang Kaixin and Zhou Yan) take on a high-profile murder case that seems settled, until the suspect takes back his confession. With the families involved pushing from one side and the public watching from the other, the team has to rebuild the case piece by piece from the evidence, to find out what really happened and who was behind it. Around that main case, the series follows several other investigations, each testing how far the team will go to keep the law fair when everyone wants a quick answer.
