Things go wrong at once: the girl loses her memory, and when he tries to collect a ransom nobody seems to want her back. Pretending to be her father, he takes her home, and the pair form an odd, tender bond while a bigger plot closes in. It is a twisty, dark comedy with a lot of heart.
