Ji Gang Hui grew up at Motel California, where her father ran the business in their small village. Her mother was of mixed heritage, and because of her unusual family background, Gang Hui often faced gossip and whispers from the locals. The experience left a lasting mark on her heart. As a child, she had a crush on her friend Cheon Yeon Su, her first love. At 20, she left her hometown and moved to Seoul.

Twelve years later, Gang Hui has become a successful interior designer, reaching the peak of her career. Yet, she decides to return to her village for reasons she cannot fully explain. There, she unexpectedly reunites with Cheon Yeon Su.

Cheon Yeon Su now works as a veterinarian in the village. Gang Hui has always been the only woman he has truly loved, but he often receives attention from local farmers eager to match him with their daughters. To avoid awkward situations, he does not clarify rumors that he is engaged to another veterinarian.
