Terrifying supernatural beings begin appearing without warning to publicly execute ordinary people who are told they've been condemned for their sins, and a charismatic cult leader builds a religious movement around treating these killings as divine judgment. As panic and fanaticism spread through society, a small group of skeptics tries to figure out what's actually behind the phenomenon before fear finishes the job the creatures started.
