Geum Jan Di comes from a poor family that runs a small dry-cleaning shop. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she visits Shinhwa High School, an elite school reserved for the wealthy, and saves a student who is attempting suicide due to severe bullying. In recognition of her bravery, Jan Di is awarded a swimming scholarship and begins attending the prestigious school.

At Shinhwa High, she encounters F4, the most powerful and popular group of boys in the school. The group consists of Gu Jun Pyo, the arrogant leader and heir to the Shinhwa Group; Yoon Ji Hu, the gentle grandson of a former Korean president; So Yi Jung, a talented potter from a family that owns the country’s largest art museum; and Song Woo Bin, whose family controls the nation’s biggest construction company.

Jan Di struggles to fit in due to her modest background and quickly becomes isolated. Her situation worsens when she is targeted for bullying by F4, turning her school life into a daily battle for survival in an environment dominated by privilege and power.
